Community & Gamification

TATER includes a built-in community and gamification system designed to keep compliance teams engaged and motivated. Earn XP, unlock achievements, climb leaderboards, and customize your profile — all while doing real compliance work.

Community Dashboard

Access the community hub by clicking Community → Community in the left navigation. The dashboard shows:

  • Your current level and XP progress bar
  • Recent achievements you've unlocked
  • A mini-leaderboard showing top team members
  • Your org's level and achievement count
  • Quick links to your profile, full achievements list, and leaderboard

My Profile

Access via Community → My Profile.

Your profile is your identity within TATER. Configure:

  • Nickname — A unique display name (2–32 characters). Must be unique within your organization. Co-workers see "nickname (Real Name)" format; people outside your org see only the nickname.
  • Avatar — Upload a photo (JPG, PNG, or GIF, max ~150KB) or click 🎲 Random to generate a colorful icon avatar.
  • Bio — A short description (max 500 characters) visible to co-workers.
  • Profile Color — Pick an accent color for your avatar and profile card.

Click Save Profile to apply changes. Saving your profile for the first time unlocks the "Named" achievement.

XP & Level Progression

You earn XP automatically by performing compliance work — no extra steps required:

Levels

  • 🌱 Rookie — 0 XP
  • 🔍 Analyst — 100 XP
  • ⚙️ Specialist — 300 XP
  • 🛡️ Expert — 700 XP
  • 🌟 Senior — 1,500 XP
  • 💎 Principal — 3,000 XP
  • 🏆 Legend — 6,000 XP

Achievements

Access via Community → Achievements. Use the scope selector to switch between "My Achievements" and "Org Achievements."

Each achievement shows:

  • Its icon and name
  • A description of how to unlock it
  • XP bonus awarded
  • Your progress bar (for milestone achievements)
  • Earned date (once unlocked)

Org Achievements

Org Achievements are earned collectively. Every team member's actions count toward org-level milestones:

  • First Org Scan · Org Scanner (10) · Org Scanning Pro (50)
  • Compliance 80% / Compliance 90% / Compliance 95% (secret)
  • Growing Team (5 members) · Large Team (10 members)
  • Policy Library (5 org policies)
  • Multi-Framework (2+ frameworks active)
  • First Org Remediation
  • Org Achiever (5 org achievements) · Org Champion (10)
Secret achievements

Some achievements are hidden until earned. Their names and unlock criteria are not shown in advance — keep exploring the platform to discover them.

Leaderboards

Access via Community → Leaderboard.

Controls:

  • Type — Switch between People (individual) and Organizations leaderboards
  • Sort By — XP / Level, Scans, Remediations, Comments, Policies, or Achievements

The top 3 are displayed in a podium view. Your rank is always shown, even if you're outside the top 25.

MSP insight

For MSPs, the Organizations leaderboard shows which of your client orgs are most actively using the platform — useful for identifying engaged vs. at-risk accounts.

Tips for Maximizing XP

  • Run scans regularly — Each new scan upload awards XP, so schedule weekly automated scans via Azure Automation.
  • Document findings — Adding evidence comments earns XP and improves audit quality at the same time.
  • Remediate promptly — Triggering remediation scripts awards XP for each finding fixed.
  • Build your policy library — Creating policy documents is one of the highest per-action XP earners.
  • Export evidence — Generating evidence export packages (ZIP with all controls, overrides, and comments) awards 25 XP.
  • Use the AI Analyst — Starting an AI Analyst session awards XP per conversation.
  • Complete your profile — Set a nickname and avatar to unlock the "Named" and "Profile Complete" achievements.
